About Us

Our Core

Our hope is in Jesus Christ, and Him alone.

We are rooted in God’s promises and growing in God’s purposes in order to transform our world with God’s love. We praise and worship God; we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ; we commit our gifts and talents to ministry; we love and care for one another; we invite others to life in Christ. – WBC Purpose Statement

We Are ‘Orthodox’ – We believe what Christians throughout the ages have believed, stated in the Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;   And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and buried;
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again;
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty,
from there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic (universal) Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,  the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

Our Foundation
The Bible reveals God’s purpose and plan.  It is our authority for what we believe and what we do.  We are saved by faith that Jesus’ died for our sins.  We respond to God’s love for us by loving God and decide to follow Jesus in our daily lives.  Our hope for today, tomorrow and eternity is Jesus.

Our Mission
We grow as followers of Jesus Christ and bring his salvation to the world around us.  As Jesus’ followers, our goal is to become more like him – serving as He has served, with sacrificial love.  We learn to love what Jesus loves, desire what Jesus desires, and do the things Jesus would do if He was in our shoes.   The Holy Spirit inspires and teaches us to follow Jesus.

Our Church Family
People know each other, and are known by others.  We are people-centered because God cares about what happens in our lives.  Our common faith unites us as one in Jesus.

We Are Baptist
The Bible teaches that faith in Jesus is an individual response to God’s grace that is lived in a personal relationship of obedience with Jesus.  We baptize people who trust Jesus for their salvation.  We stand against interference in personal conscience and religious faith.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:8-10
